Welcome to the State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign (SECGC) application process.
The Application Period WAS OPEN between March 15 – May 31, 2025 (Deadline Has Passed For New Applications)
Nonprofit applications for the State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign (SECGC) will open March 15, 2025, and close on May 31, 2025.
If your organization wants to participate in the SECGC campaign, you must submit an application under one of the following categories: Independent, Federation, or Affiliate (see descriptions below).
- If your organization previously participated, your SECGC number remains the same. You can find it in your 2024 results letter (emailed in February 2025) or in the Giving Guide at https://charitablegiving.mt.gov/_docs/SECGC-Giving-Guide-24-25.pdf
- If this is your first time applying, a new SECGC number will be assigned to you upon acceptance.
Important Note: The SECGC application allows state employees to select your organization for donations. It does not automatically register you for the Rotunda Kickoff Event at the Capitol in Helena.
Application Categories & Fees
Choose the correct application type for your organization:
- Federation ($65): A network of affiliated nonprofits (e.g., EarthShare, Independent Charities of America, United Way). An invoice will be sent to you.
- Affiliate ($5 per organization): A nonprofit that operates under a Federation. Invoices will be sent to the Federation for all affiliate applications.
- Independent ($40): A nonprofit that operates alone, without any affiliations. Fee charged during submission.
First time using Submittable? You must register an account before submitting your application.

Location: Montana State Capitol Rotunda - Helena
Date / Time: Thursday, September 25th, 11AM to 1PM, set up between 10AM and 10:45AM.
Participation in this event is first come, first serve There are 70 spots available.
Table and Space: TABLES ARE NOT PROVIDED. You are allocated a space the size of ONE CARD TABLE (3-4 feet wide). Please bring your own card table. Capitol personnel are providing each of you with 1-2 folding chairs. Spaces are assigned. A piece of paper on the chair with your nonprofit name will show your space.
You may drop off your table and materials for your display inside the South entrance to the Capitol building, on Lockey Avenue, park your car, and then return. Please keep your display up until the event closes at 1PM. Please clean your area thoroughly so the Capitol folks invite us back next year.
Soliciting or accepting direct donations at the event is not allowed. Please promote your nonprofit by providing materials about what services you provide and encourage state employees to participate in the campaign. Also feel free to provide additional treats and giveaways. This is a great way to attract state employees to come visit your table and learn more about what your nonprofit does.
Because of the beautiful restoration work several years ago, we are not allowed to hang anything on the wall behind our tables. If you have a standing display, it must either be on your card table or on the floor, but remember your space is limited to what is between your table and the wall. Additionally, electricity outlets are not available. No helium balloons and no animals with the exception of service animals.
Food and Drinks: Coffee will be provided at 11:00am, and pizza may be provided for lunch. Both items are free to all state employees and you, of course.
Thank you for participating in the SECGC Kickoff Event; this is a great opportunity to raise awareness about your organization.
